My name is Oliver Stephen, most people call me Olly, apart from those people that think my name is Steve.

Chances are you’re here because you saw me on that thing about the football.

I took my first photo at about age 5, in the 41 years since I’ve not got much better at it, but I’ve not let that stop me. A few years back I realised I was a documentary photographer, and not the oil painter I thought I was supposed to be. Since then I’ve been documenting my heritage in North Wales, bits of London, the Wrexham music/art scene, and my journey as a fan of Wrexham AFC.

I moved to Wrexham in 2008 where my Fine Art degree saved my life and photography helped me get sober (11 years in July). I’m always more than willing to talk about it as we need more positivity in the world, and art can give us that. I’m also happy to rant on about my obsessions with Aliens, Robocop, and Babylon 5.

I co-run the Wrexham Zine Library and the Wrexham Photography Social.

I’ve run workshops, given talks, or worked for/with Wrexham University School of Art, Oriel Mostyn, the Nothern Eye Festival, Recovery in Focus, Ty Pawb, The Canal & River Trust, North Wales Crusaders, Wrexham Police FC, The Turf, National Theatre Wales, Voicebox WXM, DataMosh, Outside Lives, Dispensary Gallery, Avant Cyrmu, Breakin’ Convention, Nearly There Yet, National Centre for Circus Arts, Wal Goch Festival, Red Roach Records, Oriel Sycarth, Oriel Wrecsam, UnDegUn, Ty Cornel, Wynne Construction, National Library of Wales, Wrexfest, Hypha Studios, Dirty Protest Theatre, Declan Swans, and probably a few more I can’t remember right now.
